If you aren't on a squad, we've love to have you sign up on any of the 4 teams!

  • No pressuring, if someone isn't interested there's no pressure to participate... this is meant to be fun.

The more friends the better, with no price to play every contribution to the team will help:

  • Do the open workout on Friday or at FNL

  • Show up to FNL

  • Rock team colors

  • Participate in our weekly contests (details TBA announced, but we're giving back!)

The Petram In-House Open Battle:

This year 4 in-house teams will challenge each other for bragging rights and to see their name raised to the rafters on a ‘22 Championship Banner. This is just a fun way to celebrate our fitness with the best gym community there is!

How to Participate:

  1. Simply throw your name on the Petram Chalkboard to participate in the Petram Open. There is no cost to participate and we encourage everyone to join in on the fun! Once your name is on the chalkboard you are eligible to join one of our teams! Deadline to put your name on the board is 1/28.

  2. Earn points for your team by:

    • completing the Open workout each week (we’re doing the workout in classes on Friday and at Friday Night Lights)

    • attend FNL (our weekly party on Friday night)

    • participate in the weekly theme at FNL (more info coming - but rock your team color)

    • finish top 5 in rx or scaled (male/female) in Open workout

    • more fun ways to earn points to be announced, non-fitness related

  3. Starting on Monday 1/31 a free agency period begins, each team can add up to 5 new members from the gym to their squad.



The CrossFit Open:

  • The Open is 3 weeks long and starts 2.24.22. The Open is a celebration of our fitness and we plan on celebrating everything that is #fitnessfriendsfun here at Petram!

  • Each week during The Open a workout will be announced on Thursday for the world of CrossFitters to complete and log their score by the following Monday.

  • CrossFit Petram will take on the Open workout every Friday in class and then provide additional opportunities as needed on Saturday, Sunday & Monday. We expect a large majority of members to do The Open workouts at Friday Night Lights!

  • Did we mention there are several options for each workout, making it easy to find a place where you can be challenged yet not discouraged over the course of the three weeks? Here are some of the divisions you can choose from: 

    • Rx’d - Do the workouts as written. This is the most challenging option, yet many individuals have moved from scaled to Rx’d as they progress from year to year.

    • Age Groups - There are nine age group divisions offering Rx'd and scaled versions of the workouts for teenage athletes aged 14-17 as well as masters athletes ages 35+.

    • Adaptive - The adaptive divisions offer equally challenging workouts modified for athletes with a significant, permanent impairment. These divisions include Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Seated With Hip Function, Neuromuscular, and more.

    • Scaled - Not quite ready to tackle the workouts as written? No problem. The scaled division offers classic scaling options for many of CrossFit’s common gymnastics movements and includes lighter loading.  

    • Foundations - Just started CrossFit or maybe this is your first Open? The foundations workouts are a great place to start.
