Let the Mayhem Begin!

New Strength & Gymnastics Cycles Start Next Week – Get Ready to Push Your Limits!

What’s up Petram! In the next chapter of our Mayhem journey, we are kicking off a brand-new 10-week strength and gymnastics cycle next week, and we couldn’t be more excited! Whether you're an experienced athlete or a newcomer to Petram, this cycle has something for everyone. From learning new techniques to testing your strength, these next few months are going to be a powerful journey, and we’re all in it together. As we step forward, remember, fitness is an output. You’re only going to get out of this what you put into it. Take advantage of every ounce of instruction, drilling, warming-up, and mini round, and marching the stimulus for each lift will help you make the most of this cycle!

What’s Coming in the Strength Cycle?

We’re diving into tempo and pause-style lifting over the next 10 weeks – a fantastic way to build strength, improve form, and see real progress. This cycle is designed with everyone in mind. If you’re new to CrossFit, you'll have a chance to learn foundational lifts like back squats, front squats, deadlifts, and shoulder presses. And for those with more experience, pause and tempo work will help you continue to build strength and push your limits in new ways. Remember, basics do not mean beginner! This is going to be a time for you to dial-in and marry your strength and form.

Why is tempo/pause lifting so effective? These techniques allow you to build better control and improve your range of motion while developing raw strength. This will not only help you with lifting but will also transfer over to improved performance across all areas of CrossFit.

I encourage you to ask your coach for guidance if you’re unsure of where to start. We know it can be daunting to test your limits, but our coaches are here to help you navigate each movement safely and effectively.

Gymnastics Cycle – Mastering Skills Together

Alongside the strength cycle, we’re also starting a new 10-week gymnastics cycle, perfectly timed to complement the strength training. This cycle will focus on ring muscle-ups for our advanced athletes, while everyone else will work on strict pull-ups. We’ll rotate these skills every week, alternating with handstand push-ups (and modified options) on the opposite weeks.

What’s great about this rotation? It keeps things fresh! You won’t be stuck doing the same drill every week, and our coaches will guide you every step of the way. Whether you're looking to refine a pull-up or finally nail that muscle-up, this cycle will push you to improve and break through plateaus. And for those who already have these movements down, we’re offering advanced conditioning options that will take you to the next level and prepare you for upcoming competitions, like the Open.

Building Strength, Building Community

At CrossFit Petram, we’re about more than just physical progress. We’re about community. Whether you’re learning a new lift or finally getting that first strict pull-up, the support you get from your fit family and coaches is second to none. We all push one another, cheer one another on, and celebrate each milestone together.

If you’re ever unsure of where to start or what to focus on, your coach is your best resource. They’ll not only help you with the technical side of things – teaching form, mechanics, and protocol – but they’re also here to motivate you. Remember, there’s no "perfect" athlete here, just people showing up, testing their limits, and working hard.

Your January Challenge Awaits

Speaking of showing up, don’t forget about our January challenge! This month is all about building sustainable habits, and what better way to keep you motivated than earning points for each class you attend, every goal you hit, and the progress you share with others? Whether it’s staying hydrated, posting on social media, or bringing a friend to class, the challenge will keep you engaged and moving forward. Keep an eye on our social media for updates and more details on how you can get involved!

Let’s Get Stronger Together

Both the strength and gymnastics cycles will run in tandem, offering the perfect balance of skill-building, strength training, and conditioning. We’re excited to see how everyone progresses over the next 10 weeks – and we’ll be right beside you, every step of the way. So, let’s get ready to push ourselves, cheer one another on, and become even stronger together.
